My Instrument Wish List
About Me
I play the viola da gamba and the cello, as well as a little bit of many other instruments. Learning to play new (and unusual) instruments is one of my favorite things to do. To the right you can see a list of all the instruments I would like to own (but currently do not). I currently own a cello, bass viol (viola da gamba), flute, clarinet, trumpet, recorder, and hammer dulcimer. My husband has a viola, guitar, and electric keyboard.
The viola da gamba is a renaissance instrument, similar to the cello. However it has 6 strings, gut strings, and frets and does not have an end pin. The bow is slightly different and is held from underneath rather than above. The image on the background of this page is a viol. For more info, go to VdGSA
